Can you help a Mountie?

135
country: CANADA

comments: I am with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Nova Scotia Canada.
Many years ago I met an elderly man by the name of George BELL from Kelso. Mr. BELL was the son of one of the town police and was likely born around 1900 - 1915.
He had been a school master at Oxford but travelled the world (for his mother who had been bound by children and poverty)and had never married. I last heard from him several years ago in a letter which he wrote from his nephew's home in New Zealand. Occasionally people pass through our lives but once however they are forever present thereafter and Mr. BELL was that for me.

When seeking your site, I was struck with the similarity of your town with the one that my grand-mother, Annie ROBERTSON-MAY, came from when she emigrated to Canada in 1912...Berwick-Upon-Tweed although she was born on Holy Island. Her father, John Ewen ROBERTSON owned the Waterloo Hotel in Berwick which was sold to 'BOOTS Drugs' in 1974 just after my mother's Aunt Nellie ROBERTSON died.

I would not only welcome but I encourage anyone reading this who can "fill in the blanks" for me, to please contact me at the attached address.
