comments: I grew up in Springfield, Missouri, USA, and I now live in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
Back in the late 90's, I visited a local gourmet grocery store, where I discovered fruitcakes, lemon curd, chutneys and other items made by Pettigrew's of Kelso, Scotland. This was one of the first clues I got regarding questions I had about the primary country from which my family had immigrated to America. (After further research, I later learned that immigrants from Ireland had also played a big role.)
I don't know if the company still makes fruitcake or not, but I thought it was quite delicious. If I see some again, I'll be sure to pick some up.
Maybe I'll get a chance to visit Kelso Scotland someday. That would be nice.
