Hearing Dogs for Deaf People News & Events

The Tweed Valley Branch have been raising funds for Hearing Dogs for five years. We are a very small branch made up of Betty, Sheila and Jacqui, but to date have raised enough money to sponsor five dogs (the cost of training each dog is £2,500.

Trained to become the ears of a deaf person, a hearing dog communicates by touching it's owner then indicating the source of the sound of the door bell, telephone, alarm clock etc. A simple, gentle gesture that can open up a sometimes isolated and silent world or even save a life.

If you are a member of a group or club and would like to learn more about the charity, contact the email address above and we can arrange for someone (often with a Hearing Dog) to come along and give a talk.
