Very Rev Archibald Craig
Born in 1888, Archie Craig was a son of the manse. His education at Kelso High School , Edinburgh University and New College, was interrupted by the First World War. He served in the Royal Scots, being awarded the Military Cross in 1918. His early charges were in Galston and Glasgow, before becoming Chaplain to Galsow University in 1930. Thereafter, he was involved with the British Council of Churches, the Iona Community before becoming Lecturer in Biblical Studies at Glasgow University. He was Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland during 1961-62. He died in 1985.
